Through the years, they have contributed much to our homeowner’s association. Jerry served as a board member for many years and Sheri has been an active member on many association committees. They have been outstanding neighbors and friends to many residents in the building. They will be truly missed.
Building residents gathered last week to honor Sheri Nielsen and wish her and her husband, Jerry, a bright future. After more than 30 years at Casa Bahia, Jerry and Sheri are moving to Palm Desert.

Work began this week on the installation of our new building security system. The first phase of the installation is to lay the cabling for the 10 security cameras that will be installed. This phase should be completed by next week.
The DVR recorder and cameras will then be installed and the system checked out. The Redondo Beach Police Department assisted in the placement of the cameras. The cabling is being installed by Mike Moffett, our building electrician and the hardware and surveillance system expertise is being supplied by Art William’s company, Surveil-Aware. This my friends, is known as a security breach. It was discovered on the Fourth of July as I noted hands coming through the gate to unlatch the lock. It is unknown how long we have had this hole in the 555-beach gate, I suspect less than two weeks. Note the nice even professional cuts made in the metal grill. It is a little disconcerting that no one reported this problem. It should have been obvious to anybody using the 555-beach gate. I would encourage all our residents to stay alert and vigil as they move about the building and property and immediately report to the management company, any suspected security problems they might observe. Alma Martinez, a longtime Casa Bahia resident, has been selected as an “ALL STAR” by People Magazine and Major League Baseball because of her outstanding charitable work in the South Bay. Alma is the founder of Amigos Sin Barreras (Friends without Barriers) and devotes her time to helping people in the South Bay living with HIV and AIDS. Alma was sponsored for this award by the Los Angeles Dodgers and in a competitive election, garnered the most votes from the Los Angeles community to be selected as an ALL STAR. As a winner, she will receive a much-needed grant for her organization. Congratulations Alma! |
